Job summary

voestalpine Railway Systems Nortrak is seeking a Panel Assembler 2 in Knoxville, TN to join our manufacturing team. You will straighten manganese castings per specifications and operate hydraulic benders, presses, and basic hand tools in a safety-conscious environment.

The role requires reading work orders and blueprints, basic math, and the ability to work Monday through Friday from 6:00am to 2:30pm. We offer competitive pay, strong safety culture, and opportunities for career growth.

Qualifications

  • High School graduate or GED preferred.
  • Experience in Forklift and Crane operations is an asset.
  • Ability to read work orders and blueprints preferred.
  • Experience with measuring tools preferred.
  • Basic mathematical calculation experience in adding and subtracting whole numbers, fractions and decimals.

Responsibilities

  • Operate hydraulic benders or presses to straighten manganese castings.
  • Operate hand grinders.
  • Read and follow production schedule.
  • Safely operate jib and overhead cranes.
  • Safely operate powered industrial truck.
  • Able to work with little supervision.

We are looking for a Panel Assembler 2 to join our team in Knoxville, TN.

PURPOSE OF POSITION

The Panel Assembler 2 is responsible to straighten manganese castings per specifications.

Task and Responsibilities:
  • Operate hydraulic benders or presses to straighten manganese castings.
  • Operate hand grinders.
  • Read and follow production schedule.
  • Safely operate jib and overhead cranes.
  • Safely operate powered industrial truck.
  • Able to work with little supervision.
  • Adhere to Nortrak’s Environmental, Safety and Quality Procedures, Practices and Policies.
  • Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements (e.g. education, experience, skills and desired competencies)
  • High School graduate or GED preferred.
  • Experience in Forklift and Crane operations is an asset.
  • Ability to read work orders and blueprints preferred.
  • Experience with measuring tools preferred.
  • Basic mathematical calculation experience in adding and subtracting whole numbers, fractions and decimals.
Physical Demands:
  • Frequent standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing, and pushing, pulling, or lifting objects for the duration of your required schedule shift.
  • Use hands and arms to operate tools, handle materials, and reach for the duration of your required scheduled shift.
  • Regularly lift and carry 30–35 pounds; occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Required vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
  • Hearing abilities necessary to perform job tasks safely and effectively.
Shift:
  • Monday to Friday, 6:00am to 2:30pm
