Job summary

AccentCare is seeking a part-time Palliative Care Visit Physician in Tampa, FL to deliver compassionate, patient-centered care to individuals with chronic and terminal illnesses. The role involves two days per week, 8 hours daily, with duties including developing plans of care, prognostic evaluations, and collaboration with the care team.

Qualifications

• Must be a licensed MD or DO in the state of practice.
• Maintains active DEA license.
• Experience in palliative care is required.
• Familiarity with hospice regulations and Medicare requirements.
• Strong clinical judgment and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication with patients, families, and providers.
• Ability to manage complex end-of-life care situations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Plan of Care for each patient, including discharge planning with care team, patients and families.
• Participate in prognosis evaluation and certification/recertification.
• Sign death certificates as needed.
• Conduct daily patient rounds and set consistent rounding schedules with interdisciplinary team.
• Ensure proper documentation of eligibility for inpatient care.
• Provide education and training to interdisciplinary team and new staff.

If you meet these qualifications, we would love to meet you:

• Must be a licensed Medical Doctor (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.) in the state(s) of practice, with training or experience in caring for chronically or terminally ill patients
• Maintains active DEA license
• (Required) Experience in palliative care
• Working knowledge of hospice and palliative care, including pain and symptom management.
• Familiarity with hospice regulations and Medicare requirements.
• Strong clinical judgment and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication skills for interaction with patients, families, and providers.
• Ability to manage complex clinical and ethical situations in end-of-life care.
• (Preferred) Fellowship, Certification, etc. in Hospice and/or Palliative Care
