Job summary

Ardagh Group in Ohio Fremont is seeking a Palletizer Operator to run the palletizing console, sort, transfer and stack finished products on pallets, while following safety SOPs.

You will monitor equipment, verify layer counts, inspect cans for defects, record measurements, perform basic maintenance, and support forklift duties as needed. This role requires two years in manufacturing and a high school diploma.

Qualifications

  • Two years experience working in a manufacturing environment with troubleshooting and repair of machines.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Familiar with Personal Protective Equipment and safety SOPs.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds and work overtime/night shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Operate the palletizing console to sort, transfer, and stack pallets of finished products.
  • Control equipment by turning on/off and clearing jams; troubleshoot malfunctions.
  • Verify correct number of layers on each pallet.
  • Observe cans on the conveyor to identify misalignments and defects.
  • Examine cans with gauges; record data for quality specifications.
  • Inform Supervisor of equipment issues and potential defects.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area.
  • Perform preventative maintenance checks on assigned equipment.
  • Maintain forklift certification and provide back-up forklift duties.
  • Communicate with peers to understand issues, changes, and processes.
  • Sort/re-feed or depal cans as required.
  • Include other duties, as assigned.
