Transporting Logistics is seeking a Local Class A Driver for West Haven, CT, with steady local runs and home daily. The role focuses on grocery deliveries within a 250-mile radius, including NYC, NJ, Long Island, and Westfield, MA.

You’ll earn an average weekly pay of $1,700–$1,950 with a $5,000 sign-on bonus paid after your first load, plus detention, layover, orientation, and holiday pay. Home daily in your own bed with automatic day cabs.

Qualifications

• Valid CDL-A with 3+ months tractor-trailer experience (NYC boroughs experience preferred).
• Hair follicle and urine drug tests are required.

Responsibilities

You’ll average $1,700–$1,950 a week ($85k–$98.5k yearly), score a $5,000 sign‑on bonus that starts paying out right after your first load, and still get to sleep in your own bed.

1. Pay & Financial Perks

• Average Weekly Pay: $1,700–$1,950 ($85,000–$98,500 annualized)
• Sign-On Bonus: $5,000 total (payout starts immediately after 1st completed load)
• Base Mileage & Attendance: $0.50–$0.54 CPM (~1,380 weekly miles) + $50/day attendance rate
• Tiered Stop Rates:
  • $19.00–$20.50 (non-liftgate stops)
  • $23.00–$24.50 (non-NYC stops)
  • $30.00–$31.50 (NYC Boroughs & Boston)
• Additional Earnings: $15/hr detention (after 1st hour) | $100 per layover | $200/day orientation pay | $160 holiday pay (6 paid holidays/yr)

2. Schedule & Route Profile

• Base Terminal: Starts and ends daily at the West Haven, CT yard
• Operating Radius: 250 miles covering Westfield, MA, NYC Boroughs, Long Island, and NJ
• Shift Windows (12–14 hr daily shifts):
  • 1st Shift: Starts 01:30 AM–04:00 AM | Days off: Sunday + 1 weekday
  • 2nd Shift: Starts ~02:30 AM | Days off: Sunday + 1 weekday (never Monday)
• Peak Rules: Mandatory 6-day workweeks during holiday rushes (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's off not guaranteed); occasional overnight hotel layovers

3. Workload, Freight & Equipment

• Daily Workflow: Pick up in Westfield, MA (2 AM–4 AM) for grocery deliveries & vendor backhauls | 20–25 stops/wk (1 primary load + short 2nd load if hours allow)
• Unloading Specs: Physical driver‑assist using electric/manual pallet jacks & liftgates (1–3 pallets/stop; occasional hand offloads)
• Drop Locations: NYC (curbside), NJ (docks), Long Island (dock/curbside) | Pre-delivery calls required
• Equipment & Commute: Automatic day cabs w/ slip‑seating (stay at yard; no take‑home, pets, or riders) | Reliable personal vehicle required for commuting
