Job summary

The University of Washington is seeking an Instructional Technician II – Painting + Printmaking to support classrooms, labs, and studios across three locations. You will collaborate with faculty and leadership to maintain safe, healthy facilities and assist with curricular objectives.

You will help with equipment setup, training, safety talks, and shop maintenance, while coordinating with staff on projects and program needs in a high-volume academic setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant instructional area or two years of college plus two years of painting/printmaking studio work.
• Knowledge of health and safety concerns specific to painting and printmaking.
• Ability to teach safe handling of equipment and maintain orderly studios.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain painting and printmaking spaces for classes and projects.
• Set up areas, equipment, and materials; manage checkout policies.
• Provide training on tools, maintain safety procedures, and supervise students.
• Coordinate with faculty and administration on curricular needs and safety.
• Perform general shop maintenance and ensure cleanliness and safety.
