Job summary

North Westchester Restorative Therapy and Nursing is seeking a Temporary Painter to maintain and refresh interior and exterior surfaces of our buildings, equipment and furnishings, with emphasis on appearance and protection.

Your duties include surface preparation, matching colors, applying coatings, preparing walls, caulking, trim, and ensuring a clean, safe work environment while meeting schedules. The role is in-person with a starting wage of $23.41 per hour.

Qualifications

• Minimum one-year experience as a commercial painter or as maintenance within a commercial setting.
• Must be able to follow given directives and schedules.
• Must be able to ambulate, up and downstairs, ladders, and scaffolding.
• Must be able to bend at knees repeatedly during shift in the performance.
• Must be able to lift/carry 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Painting interior and exterior surfaces of buildings, structures, equipment, and furnishings where appearance, as well as surface protection, is important.
• Removes old finishes using appropriate methods to prepare surfaces for repainting.
• Tints, tones, matches, blends, and mixes various additives in prescribed proportions and required consistency.
• Uses proper precautions, materials, and techniques to ensure a clean safe work environment.
• Applies coating techniques to ensure surfaces meet match, texture, decorative, thickness, and level requirements.
• Prepares and sizes walls, cuts trim, wallpaper and/or vinyl.
• Removes and replaces old caulking
• Tapes and spackles drywall when required;
• Repairs, removes, and replaces old trim as required (i.e. cove base, corner guards, and various moldings)
• Maintains proper care, cleaning and storage of brushes, rollers, spray guns, paints, ladders, and other material and equipment used the worksite; and,
• Adheres to a given schedule completing work on time,
• Performs other duties as assigned.
