Zulu Global is seeking an experienced Painter Technician to join its MRO painting team in Miami, FL. The role involves painting aircraft components and ensuring compliance with FAA/EASA regulations, approved data, and manufacturer instructions.

Responsibilities include surface prep, paint application, equipment maintenance, and documentation. Candidates should be able to read blueprints, follow detailed instructions, and work with minimal supervision in a safety-conscious environment.

• Prepare components for final inspection (sealing bushings, stenciling, corrosion preventatives, minor polishing).
• Read and interpret blueprints and technical data.
• Use measuring instruments and other required tools.
• Perform maintenance and alteration tasks, including machining when required.
• Ensure compliance with FAA/EASA and manufacturer data.
• Maintain a clean, safe workstation and complete work records.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Painter Technician to join our MRO painting team in Miami Florida. The Painter Technician reports to the Lead Painter Technician and is responsible for performing aircraft component painting and related maintenance tasks in accordance with FAA/EASA regulations, approved technical data, manufacturers’ instructions, and company procedures.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Previous experience as an aircraft/component painter, preferably in an FAA/EASA Certificated Repair Station.
• Ability to read, understand, and communicate effectively in English.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with little or no supervision.
• Experience working from technical drawings, blueprints, and manufacturer repair/overhaul instructions.
• Experience operating paint equipment and performing maintenance or machining operations.
• Ability to follow detailed technical instructions and quality requirements.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality.

Responsibilities

• Maintain paint equipment and perform proper paint mixing and paint control.

• Apply primer and top coat to aircraft components.
• Maintain paint booth conditions and complete required environmental logs.
• Prepare components for final inspection, including:

  • Application of corrosion preventatives
  • Minor polishing
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical data.
• Properly use close-tolerance measurement instruments and other required tools.
• Perform maintenance and alteration tasks, including machining operations, when required.
• Follow current Manufacturer’s Instructions, Service Bulletin, Service Letters, Airworthiness Directives, and FAA/EASA-approved or acceptable technical data. Verifythat tools, equipment, and inspection aids are in safe and serviceable working condition before use.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workstation.
• Ensure all required work records and documentation are completed accurately.
• Perform all assigned duties in accordance with company procedures and applicable regulatory requirements.

Physical Requirements

• Normal color vision required.
• Ability to bend, stoop, push, reach, kneel, and work in various positions.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to stand or walk for extended periods.
• Ability to wear PPE and respirators for extended periods.
• Ability to work around sealants, solvents, noise, and hazardous materials.
• Ability to properly handle, use, and dispose of hazardous materials.
• Ability to wear a respirator in accordance with OSHA 29 CFR 1910.134 – Respiratory Protection, without restrictions that would prevent proper use or create an improper seal.
• Ability to wear required PPE, including safety glasses, gloves, safety shoes, and hearing protection, with or without reasonable accommodation.
