Painter – Swing Shift

Employment Type: Full-Time

Position Summary

Rustica is seeking a detail-oriented Painter – Swing Shift to join our Woods Department. This position reports directly to the Woods Department Swing Shift Manager and is responsible for applying high-quality finishes to custom wood and metal products that meet Rustica's exceptional standards of craftsmanship.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands‑on work, has an eye for detail, and takes pride in producing beautiful finished products. While previous painting or finishing experience is preferred, we are willing to train individuals who demonstrate a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a desire to learn.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare wood and metal products for finishing through sanding, cleaning, masking, and final surface preparation.
  • Apply high‑end finishes to custom doors, furniture, and architectural products using a variety of paints, stains, varnishes, lacquers, and specialty coatings.
  • Mix paints, stains, and finishes to achieve proper color, consistency, and quality.
  • Inspect finished products to ensure they meet Rustica's quality standards and customer specifications.
  • Maintain spray booths, painting equipment, tools, and work areas.
  • Follow established finishing procedures while identifying opportunities to improve quality and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with the Swing Shift Manager and production team to meet daily production schedules and customer deadlines.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while following all safety procedures and PPE requirements.
Required Qualifications

  • Ability to learn professional finishing techniques and safely operate painting equipment.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience painting or finishing wood, cabinetry, furniture, millwork, or metal products.
  • Experience with spray equipment, stains, paints, lacquers, varnishes, or industrial coatings.
  • Knowledge of paint preparation, color matching, and finishing techniques.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing or production environment.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 75 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive tasks throughout a 10‑hour shift.
  • Ability to safely wear required PPE, including respirators, eye protection, hearing protection, and gloves.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment.
Schedule
Swing Shift
  • Monday – Thursday
  • 4:30 PM – 2:00 AM (schedule may vary based on production needs)
