Job summary

Salt Lake County is seeking a maintenance professional to care for county facilities, performing interior and exterior painting, graffiti removal, and routine repairs. You will inspect premises for safety issues, manage supplies, and coordinate painting tasks to meet deadlines while maintaining accurate records.

The role requires 4 years of related experience or an equivalent combination, and a valid Utah driver's license may be required. Background checks are part of the process.

Qualifications

  • Four (4) years of related experience; OR an equivalent combination of related education and experience.
  • A valid Driver's License issued by the State of Utah may be required to operate a vehicle.
  • Background check and RAP Back enrollment required.

Responsibilities

  • Performs maintenance and repair to county property by painting interior and exterior of facilities and removing graffiti from grounds, buildings, walls, and sidewalks.
  • Makes regular inspections of assigned facilities to look for maintenance and safety issues including inspecting facility parking lots to assess the need for restriping.
  • Maintains adequate inventory of supplies, materials, and equipment needed to perform tasks, including initiating purchase requisitions for needed material and supplies.
  • Schedules and coordinates painting activities to meet deadlines, keeps accurate daily reports of work completed, and employs safe work practices.
  • Responds to emergency situations during non-typical work hours.

Background Information

Due to the nature of this position, the successful applicant must pass a required background check through fingerprinting and enrollment in the continuous RAP Back (Record of Arrest and Prosecution Back) program in accordance with current County Human Resources policy requirements.

JOB SUMMARY
