Job summary

Brown and Root Industrial Services is seeking a dedicated painter to apply and finish coatings on walls, ceilings, and other surfaces, using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment. You will also prepare surfaces and ensure color accuracy on a long-term maintenance project.

Responsibilities include selecting paints for plaster, wood, brick, and metal, and adhering to safety rules. A high school diploma and color judgment are required, with Brown & Root offering training and competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent, minimum eighteen years old.
• Ability to judge colors is important.
• Knowledge of different application techniques and safe use of paints, solvents, and adhesives.
• Physically able to work long periods with arms raised overhead.

Responsibilities

• Apply paint, varnish, and other finishes to surfaces using brushes, rollers, and spray machines.
• Prepare surfaces by cleaning, removing old coverings, and filling cracks.
• Determine materials and paint types needed for plaster, wood, brick, and metal.
• Maintain color accuracy and match shades for consistency.

LONG TERM MAINTENANCE PROJECT - NO PER DIEM

SUMMARY

To demonstrate knowledge and skills when applying protective coatings to surfaces.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Apply paint, varnish, and other finishes to walls, ceilings, and other surfaces with brushes, rollers, and spray machines.
• Prepare the surfaces to receive the coatings by cleaning the dirt, oil, and grease from the surfaces to be covered, removing old paint and wall coverings, cracks and holes are filled and smoothed over.
• Must know what materials were used to make the paint and which types of paints are required for different materials, such as plaster, wood, brick, and metal.
• Must have a good eye for color to mix and match paints.
• Responsible for observing and complying with all safety and project rules. Performs other duties as required.
