Job Summary

Responsible for applying paint and coatings to JLG products using electrostatic, air‑assist, and other automotive‑style paint equipment. This role ensures high‑quality finishes through surface preparation, equipment maintenance, and adherence to paint specifications.

YOUR IMPACT
  • Apply primer, paint, and touch‑up coatings using spray equipment and brushes.
  • Mask and unmask parts to meet specifications.
  • Prepare surfaces by sanding, washing, and conditioning; perform light bodywork if needed.
  • Disassemble, clean, and maintain painting equipment (pumps, heaters, tanks, guns, etc.).
  • Flush tanks and lines during color changes.
  • Mix paints for color accuracy, viscosity, and consistency.
  • Perform titrations and adjust chemicals as needed for paint and related processes.
  • Apply decals, stencils, and rust‑proofing as required.
  • Inspect work before, during, and after painting to ensure quality standards (including mil and gloss checks).
  • Transport parts and materials using tuggers, forklifts, overhead cranes, or manual carts.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, including performing preventive maintenance tasks.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 6+ months of painting experience in automotive, industrial, or heavy equipment settings.
  • Strong math skills and basic mechanical aptitude.
  • Able to wear a respirator and pass a Pulmonary Function Test (PFT).
  • Ability and willingness to work overtime as needed, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to meet business and production demands.
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance, in‑person and on‑site.
Standout Qualifications
  • 1+ year of painting experience in a manufacturing or body shop environment.
  • Ability to work independently and troubleshoot minor issues.
WORKING CONDITIONS
  • This position is based in a manufacturing or production environment and may involve exposure to loud noise, dust, moving machinery, or temperature fluctuations.
  • The role may require standing for extended periods, repetitive motions, lifting/carrying up to 35 pounds, pushing/pulling up to 50 pounds and up to 30 pounds sustained, bending, kneeling, climbing, or using tools and equipment.
  • Proper personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn when required.
  • Visual and auditory acuity are needed for safe equipment operation and effective communication in a busy workspace.
