Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Prior industrial, construction, maintenance, or general labor experience preferred.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain site-specific safety training and certifications.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Reliable transportation to and from assigned work locations.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Industrial Painters with surface preparation activities.
  • Prepare work areas by protecting adjacent surfaces, equipment, and materials from overspray and contamination.
  • Transport, organize, and stage paints, coatings, tools, and supplies throughout the work area.
  • Assist with the setup, operation, and cleanup of spray painting and blasting equipment.
  • Mix paints, primers, and coatings according to manufacturer specifications and supervisor instructions.
  • Clean and maintain brushes, rollers, spray equipment, hoses, and other painting tools.
  • Remove debris, spent materials, and waste from work areas while maintaining proper housekeeping standards.
  • Assist in loading, unloading, and handling painting materials and equipment.
  • Support painters during coating applications and touch-up activities.
  • Follow all job site safety requirements, company policies, and customer procedures.
  • Perform general labor duties in support of painting operations.

The Paint Helper works under the direction of experienced painters and supervisors while maintaining a strong commitment to safety, quality, and productivity.

Essential Functions

  • Assist Industrial Painters with surface preparation activities, including cleaning, scraping, sanding, grinding, and masking.
  • Prepare work areas by protecting adjacent surfaces, equipment, and materials from overspray and contamination.
  • Transport, organize, and stage paints, coatings, tools, and supplies throughout the work area.
  • Assist with the setup, operation, and cleanup of spray painting and blasting equipment.
  • Mix paints, primers, and coatings according to manufacturer specifications and supervisor instructions.
  • Clean and maintain brushes, rollers, spray equipment, hoses, and other painting tools.
  • Remove debris, spent materials, and waste from work areas while maintaining proper housekeeping standards.
  • Assist in loading, unloading, and handling painting materials and equipment.
  • Support painters during coating applications and touch-up activities.
  • Follow all job site safety requirements, company policies, and customer procedures.

Physical Demands

  • Frequently required to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, and reach throughout the workday.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds regularly and more with assistance.
  • Ability to work on ladders, scaffolding, elevated platforms, and aerial lifts.
  • Ability to perform repetitive hand, arm, and wrist movements.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces when required.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including but not limited to:
  • hard hat, safety glasses, face shield, gloves, hearing protection, FR clothing, steel-toed footwear, FR clothing, fall protection, respiratory protection and other project-specific PPE.
  • Work is performed in industrial facilities, fabrication shops, construction sites, refineries, petrochemical plants, and maintenance environments.
  • Exposure to paint fumes, dust, solvents, chemicals, airborne particles, and varying weather conditions.
  • Regular exposure to noisy environments requiring hearing protection.
  • May be required to work indoors and outdoors in hot, cold, humid, or inclement weather conditions.
  • Work may involve heights, confined spaces, and proximity to moving equipment and machinery.
