Job summary

Oshkosh AeroTech is seeking an experienced painter to apply finishes to heavy machinery in a controlled environment. You will follow Oshkosh AeroTech specifications, operate grit blasting and paint equipment, and ensure strict adherence to safety procedures.

Qualified candidates have a high school diploma or GED, 5+ years of auto paint experience, and the ability to document VOC logs and quality checks. This on-site role focuses on precision, teamwork, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities
  • Painters use paint/body experience, Grit Blast, and sound judgment to complete assigned paint requirements.
  • Paint according to Oshkosh AeroTech, specifications
  • Complete assigned Lean initiatives including 5s activities
  • Troubleshoot problems, identify and communicate discrepancies
  • Complete required paint documentation including VOC log and check sheets
  • Move painted parts to the next process verifying they meet Oshkosh AeroTech specifications
  • Recommend improvements to paint procedures
  • Perform all duties in a safe manner and keep all employees aware of dangers in work area
  • Practice good housekeeping in work area
  • Follow Safety, Health, Environment, and Hazardous Waste rules and responsibilities
  • Other projects and responsibilities may be added at the company’s discretion
QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Technical / vocational / or military training or related experience
  • Typically has five or more years auto paint and body experience
  • Experience with prep, grit blast and final paint of heavy machinery required
  • Ability to work productively and cohesively in a diverse and multicultural environment
