JOB SUMMARY

The position will perform all tasks associated with sanding, prepping, and painting.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Wear the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Ensure adequate preparation work has been completed before applying paint.
• Apply an appropriate amount of primer, protective, decorative, or finish coating.
• Document painting operations and time-tracking in accordance with company procedures.
• Apply decals and unit numbers for tracking purposes.
• Requisition parts as necessary.
• Operate forklifts, roll-off trucks and other equipment as required.
• Apply refinish materials to all interior or exterior surfaces and fixtures for containers, compactors, boxes, buildings and other company assets.
• Comply with company safety policies and with applicable state and federal regulations.
• Report immediately any safety violations and correct unsafe acts or conditions.
• Maintain repair order documentation to include repair description, parts used, and repair times.
• Conduct monthly inventories as required.
• Must possess own tools.
• Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFI

• High school diploma or equivalent
• At least five years of painting experience;
• Must pass a pulmonary function and respirator fit test
• Must have excellent verbal communication skills;
• Knowledge of painting technologies, metal integrity;
• Knowledge of prep surfaces, environmental rules and ability to read a Material Safety Data Sheet;
• Knowledge of shop equipment i.e. sprays guns, pumps, air compressors, paint cleaning supplies.

PREFERRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

• Paint and body certifications;
• Collision and estimation of repair damage training;
• Graduate from a technical school with painting certifications.

LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS

• Class C driver’s license.
• Safe driving record for last three years
