Job summary

Val-Matic Valve & Mfg. Corp in Elmhurst, IL, seeks a Paint Booth Operator to run spray painting equipment and ensure parts meet print specifications.

You will load and unload parts, perform inspections, and support ongoing production while following safety guidelines. This role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, understand verbal and written instructions, troubleshoot issues, and maintain clean, safe work areas.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with paint blasting and mixing of various painting materials.
• Experience working in a Manufacturing Environment.
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
• Understand plant safety guidelines and pass all required safety training.
• Must be able to understand verbal and written instructions.
• Troubleshoot problems and report issues.
• Must work well in team environment.

Responsibilities

• Start paint booth and spray equipment to produce first piece part. Performs inspection of piece part to assure part is made to specification.
• Make adjustments as needed to make piece parts conform to paint specifications.
• Change process parameters as needed and adjust painting equipment to ensure parts conform to print specifications.
• Load and unload piece parts from fixtures during production run and perform periodic inspections including wet and dry film thickness measurements.
• Perform necessary paperwork (labor tickets, inspection sheets, etc).
• Demonstrates ability to meet production standards on specific assignments within required time.
• Maintain good housekeeping and clean work areas in assigned space.
• Perform all assignments in accordance with safety specifications, instructions, and requirements.
• Responsible for safety and quality throughout production
• Responsible for notifying a Production Lead or Supervisor when they step off the line to ensure safety and quality standards are maintained.
• Reports all production waste/issues to Production Lead or Supervisor
• Performs other duties as required by Supervisor or Manager
• Follows all company policies and procedures.

Summary

Operates a spray painter to apply industrial paint finishes to metal products.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to be on feet up to 8-12 hours per shift
