Amentum at NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston seeks a skilled Painter to perform all phases of painting on site. You will work from scaffolds and ladders, using brushes, rollers, and airless spray equipment to ensure quality finishes suitable for sensitive aerospace environments.

Requirements include U.S. citizenship, the ability to obtain a NASA badge, and a clean background check; a high school diploma or GED (or 5 years relevant experience) and a Texas REAL ID driver's license are also

Position Title:

Painter

Purpose of the position

Will perform assigned painter duties as an Amentum employee onsite at the NASA Johnson Space Center.

Principal Responsibilities Of The Position

• Perform all phases of painting.

Education And Experience Requirements

• Must have a strong background in all Phases of painting
• Tape & float, sand, texture
• Use of joint compounds, quick set
• Painting with brushes (cut-in) and rollers
• Layout & placing of floor tile, cove base
• Knowledge of latex, oil base & epoxy paints
• Stain & lacquers doors and cabinets
• Mix & match colors and textures
• Work off scaffolds and ladders at various elevations
• Use airless spray rig
• Paint booth experience helpful

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. Citizen in order to obtain required NASA badge.
• Must be able to provide a certified Birth Certificate (with state seal), Passport, or INS Citizenship documents on date of hire (candidate will be sent home if this paperwork is not provided upon arrival on date of hire).
• Must have the ability to communicate the English language, both verbally and written, in an effective manner.
• Must have, and maintain, a valid Texas driver’s license (with REAL ID).

Special Knowledge And Skills Required

• This position is located onsite at NASA JSC and requires US Citizenship.
• Must be able to pass a Pre-Employment background check and drug screen test.
• Clean, neat, and professional personal appearance.
• Will insure quality and completeness of work in a safe and timely manner as well as insuring areas worked are clean, neat and ready for customer’s needs when complete.
• Must have a High School Diploma or GED or 5 years of relevant experience.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 lbs.
• Dexterity to operate office and field equipment as required by the position.
• In good physical shape/condition for climbing in and out of tight restricted working areas, as applicable.

Preferences

• Prior knowledge of NASA site, experienced with working on government installations preferred.
