Job summary

Peace River Center is seeking a dedicated painter to prepare and apply paint on interior and exterior surfaces of buildings and equipment. You will also maintain documentation related to maintenance operations and work with the Operations team to ensure a safe, compliant environment.

The role requires HS Diploma or GED, basic painting experience, and the ability to follow safety rules, dress codes, and communicate effectively with colleagues and vendors. Reliable transportation is preferred.

Job description

This position performs varied tasks to prepare and apply paint to the interior and exterior surfaces of buildings and equipment. This position also requires maintaining appropriate documentation relating to the effective management of maintenance operations.

Qualifications:

Education:

HS Diploma/GED required with temporary exception that may be granted with the condition that an applicant completes their GED within 3-6 months.

Experience:

Candidate should have some relevant experience in commercial or residential painting.

Certifications:

None

Training:

Candidate must complete annual professional enhancement trainings as well as complete all agency assigned trainings.

Knowledge and Skills:

• General skills relating to protecting non-painted surfaces from splatters and spills.
• General skills caulking, spackling and repairing damaged wall surfaces so as to properly prepare for the application of primer, sealer and/or paint.
• General painting skills including precision application and trimming.
• Ability to be flexible and manage time, resources, and customer services in a professional manner.
• Demonstrate understanding and ability to work with clients with mental health disorders or special needs.
• Demonstrate respect and appreciation for diversity (culturally relevant, anti-bias, and multicultural).
• Skills necessary to support and promote a professional work environment.

Supervisory Relationship(s)

The work environment is fast-paced and consists of exposure to physical conditions typical of a normal office environment. The populations cared for will include patients who are confused, delusional, irrational, agitated, or uncooperative. Most of the job is performed while sitting, although the work may require occasional standing or walking and/or the lifting and carrying of small objects. A small amount of travel may be required for meetings etc. to another PRC location.
