Job summary

Brunner & Lay seeks an experienced industrial painter to apply high-quality finishes to a variety of products, from surface preparation to coating, while upholding safety and quality standards on the production line. You will work closely with manufacturing teammates to meet schedules and specifications.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in industrial or manufacturing painting, including spray painting techniques.
  • Strong manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination to handle detailed painting tasks.
  • Familiarity with drywall preparation and finishing processes.
  • Ability to safely operate a table saw and perform basic carpentry tasks.
  • Knowledge of fiberglass application and finishing methods.
  • Understanding of depth perception to ensure even and consistent paint coverage.
  • Basic knowledge of MIG welding to assist with minor fabrication or repair tasks.
  • Certification or formal training in industrial painting or coatings application.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment with strict quality control standards.
  • Knowledge of advanced painting technologies and environmentally friendly coatings.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications related to painting and finishing.
  • Experience with maintenance and troubleshooting of painting equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and masking areas to ensure proper paint adhesion and finish quality.
  • Apply paints, stains, varnishes, and other coatings using brushes, rollers, spray guns, or other equipment according to specifications.
  • Operate and maintain painting tools and equipment, including spray booths and ventilation systems, to ensure safe and efficient work conditions.
  • Inspect finished surfaces for defects or inconsistencies and perform touch-ups or corrections as needed to meet quality standards.
  • Collaborate with carpentry and fabrication teams to coordinate painting schedules and ensure seamless integration of painted components.
  • Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment to minimize exposure to hazardous materials.
  • Maintain accurate records of materials used, work completed, and time spent on each project.

About the Role:

As a Painter within the manufacturing industry, you will play a critical role in applying high-quality finishes to a variety of products and components, ensuring both aesthetic appeal and protective durability. Your expertise will contribute to the overall production process by preparing surfaces, selecting appropriate materials, and applying coatings with precision and care. This position demands a keen eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining safety and quality standards throughout each project. You will collaborate closely with other manufacturing team members to meet production schedules and customer specifications. Ultimately, your work will enhance the value and longevity of manufactured goods, supporting the company’s reputation for excellence.

Minimum Qualifications:
