Job summary

Chart Industries is seeking a 2nd shift Painter in New Prague, MN to prepare and paint cryogenic units. You will mix paints, prep surfaces, prime with epoxy and urethane finishes, and document readings daily.

Responsibilities include equipment maintenance, touchups, and following printed instructions and safety policies. The role requires High school diploma or GED and physical ability to lift and work with protective gear.

Qualifications

• Previous paint experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with paint repairs and touchup.
• Experience repairing paint equipment.
• Able to read and use a tape measure.

• Prime units prior to painting using an epoxy primer and urethane paint air assist mixing system.
• Perform daily inspections and documentation on equipment, filters, and paint readings.

• Maintain and clean booth and paint sprayer; adhere to specifications and work instructions.
• Observe safety procedures and participate in safety meetings.
• May be asked to work in other areas as company needs require.

Chart’s Painters are critical to preparing and painting cryogenic units using different preparation materials and spraying equipment as one of the final steps in the manufacturing process.

2nd Shift Position: 2:45pm - 12:45am Monday - Thursday

What Will You Do?

• Mix paint to designated specifications
• Prep units prior to painting using a blasting booth and other handpreparation methods
• Prime units prior to painting using an epoxy primer and urethane paint air assist mixing system.
• Perform daily inspections and documentation on equipment, filters, and paint readings
• Perform necessary touchups when needed
• Perform maintenance on booth and paint sprayer
• Clean paint spraying equipment
• Adhere to painting specifications
• Adhere to printed work instruction manuals
• Observe and practice safety procedures and policies, participate in department safety meetings and initiatives
• May be asked to work in other areas as company need requires
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by manager

Your Physical Work Environment Will Require…

• Frequent lifting and carrying up to 40 lbs. and occasionally heavier (50-60 lbs.) with assistance
• Frequent sitting, standing, stooping, bending, twisting, walking and occasional crawling
• Frequent pushing, pulling and handling of materials
• Occasional climbing and working at elevated positions
• Exposure to metal cutting, welding odors, welding flash and incidental acceptable limits of x-ray radiation
• Possible exposure to chemical odors and temperature extremes
• Exposure to overhead objects and occasional flying debris
• Required use of respirator, safety glasses with side shields, ANSI approved steel-toed safety shoes, hearing protection and hard hat

Your Experience Should Be...

• Previous paint experience in a manufacturing environment
• Previous experience with paint repairs and touchup
• Previous experience repairing paint equipment
• Able to read and use a tape measure

High school diploma or GED required
