Job summary

Tague Lumber Inc. is seeking a skilled in-house, full-time Painter to paint interior and exterior surfaces, trimmings, and fixtures of Tague buildings, primarily in the Greater Philadelphia area, with travel to different locations throughout the week.

The successful candidate will select the right materials, use a range of tools, observe safety measures, and work with reliability and meticulous attention to detail in completing duties.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of commercial/residential painting experience both interior and exterior.
  • Valid driver’s license with a driving record meeting MVR standards.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Medical Card for driving commercial vehicles.
  • Certification to work on a scissor lift (training provided).
  • Ability to paint with precision and maintain a keen eye for detail.
  • Experience moving jobs forward with minimal directions from others.

Responsibilities

  • Travel to Tague facilities and communicate with managers to determine painting requirements.
  • Maintain a color palette with location-specific colors.
  • Mask surfaces to protect trim, floors, furniture, and other areas.
  • Prepare surfaces prior to painting.
  • Mix and match paint, stain, and finishes to specifications.
  • Apply paints and finishes with appropriate tools with precision.
  • Perform basic carpentry tasks like wall prep and outlet masking.
  • Maintain inventory of brushes, rollers, tarps, and supplies.
  • Follow chemical and waste storage and disposal regulations.
  • Build scaffolding according to safety regulations.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Description

Tague Lumber is seeking a skilled in‑house, full‑time, year‑round Painter to paint interior and exterior surfaces, trimmings, and fixtures of Tague buildings, primarily located in the Greater Philadelphia area. This position will travel to different locations throughout the week. The successful candidate will be able to select the right material for the job, and have experience painting with various tools and in various heights and spaces while observing all safety measures. They must be reliable and possess great attention to detail in completing their duties.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Travel to Tague facilities and communicate with managers to determine painting requirements
  • Maintain a color palette including specific colors to be used for different items at each location
  • Cover trim, floors, furniture, and other surfaces with masking tape, drop cloths, and other protective coverings to keep them free of paint
  • Prepare surfaces to be painted
  • Mix and match paint, stain, and other finishes to job specifications
  • Precisely apply paint, stain, and other finishes to paint surfaces using the appropriate tools
  • Perform basic carpentry work, such as preparing walls and other surfaces through sanding, taping off outlets, repairing cracks, etc.
  • Maintain an inventory of supplies like paint brushes, rollers, and tarps
  • Comply with chemical and waste storage and disposal regulations and best practices
  • Build scaffolding according to safety regulations
  • Maintains a clean work area
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • 5+ years of commercial/residential painting experience both interior and exterior
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and a driving record that meets Tague’s minimal MVR standards
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Medical Card for driving commercial vehicles
  • Obtain certification to work on a scissor lift. Tague will provide the necessary training.

Work Environment
