Job summary

Brown-and-Root-Industrial-Services is seeking an experienced coating painter to apply paints and finishes to walls and ceilings. You will prepare surfaces, select appropriate coatings, and ensure color accuracy while maintaining safety standards.

This role requires routine use of brushes, rollers, and spray equipment and hands-on problem solving in industrial settings. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, color discernment, and practical knowledge of coating materials, tool

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; 18+ years old and able to work well with hands.
• Ability to judge colors and select paints for plaster, wood, brick, and metal.
• Knowledge of painting techniques, tool care, and safe handling of paints, solvents, and adhesives.

Responsibilities

• Apply paint, varnish, and finishes using brushes, rollers, and spray machines.
• Prepare surfaces by cleaning, removing old paint, and filling cracks/holes.
• Know which materials were used and which paints suit different surfaces.
• Mix colors to match specifications.
• Observe safety and project rules; perform other duties as required.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

To demonstrate knowledge and skills when applying protective coatings to surfaces.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Apply paint, varnish, and other finishes to walls, ceilings, and other surfaces with brushes, rollers, and spray machines.
• Prepare the surfaces to receive the coatings by cleaning the dirt, oil, and grease from the surfaces to be covered, removing old paint and wall coverings, cracks and holes are filled and smoothed over.
• Must know what materials were used to make the paint and which types of paints are required for different materials, such as plaster, wood, brick, and metal.
• Must have a good eye for color to mix and match paints.
• Responsible for observing and complying with all safety and project rules. Performs other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

A high school diploma or equivalent, minimum eighteen years old, and be able to work well with their hands. Ability to judge colors is important. Working knowledge of different application techniques, proper care of tools and safe use and handling of paint, solvents, and adhesives. Must be physically able to work for long periods of time with arms raised overhead.
