Job summary

Geater Machining and Manufacturing, Co. is seeking a Painter to mix, prepare and apply coatings to parts in accordance with NADCAP requirements.

You will read blueprints, mix paints, mask and paint parts, verify dimensions with calipers, maintain 6S, and document coating logs, ensuring quality finishes across production.

Qualifications

  • Reads and interprets blueprints, sketches, or specifications for prepping and de-prepping.
  • Mixes paints and inks with proper thinner to obtain correct consistency.
  • Applies paint as per product requirements.
  • Masks parts and cleans parts.
  • Selects fixtures, attachments, accessories, and materials for proper application of paints.
  • Verifies conformance of finished work piece to specifications and blueprints by use of appropriate measuring devices.
  • Uses safety equipment including fans, respirators, gloves, safety glasses.
  • Cleans equipment with solvents after run or when using different materials.
  • Collaborates with engineers and production to resolve prepping and de-prepping problems.
  • Follows NADCAP requirements.
  • Able to read calipers.
  • Maintains the 6S at all times ( sort, set in order, shine, standardize, sustain, safety )

  • Mixes paints and inks with proper thinner solution to obtain correct consistency for application. (touch ups )
  • Applies paint in accordance with product requirements.
  • Masks parts and cleans parts
  • Selectors holding fixtures, attachments, accessories, and materials for proper application of paints.
  • Verifies conformance of finished work piece to specifications and blueprints by use of appropriate measuring devices.
  • Uses proper safety equipment including turning on fans and wearing respirators, gloves, safety glasses.
  • Performs clean up on equipment with solvents at end of run or when using different materials.
  • Confers with engineers, production personnel, supervisors or others to resolve prepping and de-prepping problems.
  • Performs any other related or unrelated task that may be assigned from time to time.
  • Complete all applicable quality forms. QC form #222 Paint Test Log, QC form #253 Paint Prep Sheet, QC form #254 Coating Record Sheet, and QC Form 261 Misc. Oven Log per Quality Work Instruction WI08032.
  • Follow all NADCAP requirements.
  • Able to read calipers.
  • Maintain the 6S at all times ( sort, set in order, shine, standardize, sustain, safety )
