Job summary

Laural Parke in Houston, TX is seeking a hospitality-focused Painter to join our team. You will perform painting and wallcovering in high-traffic areas and restore units to like-new condition, supporting a warm, resident-focused senior living environment.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of experience, knowledge of commercial and residential painting tools, strong reading/writing English, and a willingness to assist in emergencies and safeguard residents and staff.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years’ experience in painting/wallcoverings.
• Knowledge of commercial and residential painting products and equipment.
• English reading, writing, and comprehension skills.
• Ability to follow written or oral instructions with common sense.
• Willingness to be available for emergencies at the community.

Responsibilities

• Paint and wallcover as directed in assigned areas.
• Maintain esthetics of high traffic common areas (painting and wallcovering).
• Restore painted areas in vacated units to like-new conditions.
• Perform drywall repairs as needed.
• Complete work in priority order set by supervisor.
• Take safety precautions for residents, staff and visitors (wet paint signs, cones, tape).
• Maintain all tools, equipment and supplies in proper condition.

Here are a few of the daily responsibilities of a Painter:

Perform assigned painting/wallcovering as directed.

Maintain the esthetics of high traffic common areas (painting and wallcovering).

Restore painted areas in vacated units to like-new conditions.

Perform drywall repairs as needed.

Accomplishes all work in the order of priority set by supervisor.

Take all safety precautions concerning residents, staff and visitors (i.e. utilize ‘wet paint’ signs, safety cones, and caution tape).

Maintain all tools, equipment and supplies in proper condition.

Here are a few of the qualifications we need you to have:

• Must have 3-5 years’ experience, minimum.
• Working knowledge of commercial and residential painting/wallcoverings, products and equipment.
• Proficiency in the English language enabling the employee to read, write, comprehend and communicate simple instructions, correspondence, memos, etc.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
• Willingness to be available for any/all emergencies regarding the community.
