Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. in North Carolina is seeking a Team Lead in the Paint department to oversee loading and unloading of components and ensure correct sequencing of paint structures for assembly. You will coordinate with fabrication leadership to prioritize work and uphold operator safety at stations.

The role requires ability to lift up to 35 lbs, read blueprints, and perform repetitive tasks. First shift with overtime as needed; competitive hourly pay and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

  • Paint processing experience or related certificate/degree required.
  • Experience with topcoat, prime coat and electrostatic paint.
  • Ability to read blueprints / engineering drawings.
  • Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods.
  • Ability to perform repetitive operations.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
  • Top candidates will have powder coat experience, supervisory history, and MS Office proficiency.

Responsibilities

What you will do:

As a Team Lead in the Paint department, you will manage the loading and unloading of components. You are responsible for the correct sequencing of paint structures to support assembly operations. You will engage frequently with the fabrications leadership group to ensure structures are prioritized. You will be responsible for operator safety at the loading and unloading stations. You are accountable for efficient loading and unloading of the lines to meet daily build goals.

What you have:
  • Equipment paint processing experience OR a paint related certificate or degree (trade school / technical degree)
  • Experience in topcoat, prime coat and electrostatic paint
  • Ability to read blueprints / engineering drawings
  • Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods
  • Ability to perform repetitive operations
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
  • Top candidates will also have:
    • One year of powder coat paint experience
    • Prior team lead or supervisory experience
    • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

Summary Pay Range:

$25.10 - $31.35 Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
