Job summary

Kelvion Products seeks an Industrial Paint Supervisor to lead the paint department in Catoosa, OK. You will oversee daily operations, ensure schedules, quality, safety, and adherence to 5S while coordinating with Engineering, QC, Logistics, and Assembly.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of industrial painting or blasting experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily operations of paint department and align with schedules and safety standards.
  • Review upcoming jobs and estimate materials for paint and coatings.
  • Coordinate orders for paint, coatings, solvents, and consumables.
  • Coordinate with Quality Control (QC) for inspections, hold points, and scheduled inspections.
  • Collaborate with Logistics on shipping and material availability.
  • Coordinate with Assembly on paint repairs and requirements after hydrostatic testing.
  • Identify opportunities to improve paint systems, processes, safety, and 5S.
  • Identify hazards and implement actions to improve safety and compliance.
  • Ensure staff are trained on work instructions, PPE and safety expectations.
  • Monitor performance, attendance, and productivity in the department.
  • Maintain 5S standards and proper material storage and housekeeping.
  • Communicate job status and material needs clearly to production.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Industrial Paint Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the paint department, ensuring production schedules, quality requirements, safety standards, and company expectations are consistently met. This position provides leadership to paint personnel, coordinates activities with Engineering, Quality Control, Logistics, Assembly, and other departments, and drives continuous improvement in painting processes, safety, efficiency, and 5S.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties
  • Participate in daily and scheduled leadership meetings and communicate department priorities, challenges, production requirements, and action items.
  • Review upcoming jobs and estimate paint, coatings, and other required materials to ensure adequate supplies are available.
  • Coordinate and place orders for paint, coatings, solvents, consumables, and other department supplies as required
  • Coordinate with Quality Control (QC) for required paint inspections, hold points, and scheduled OI inspections.
  • Work closely with Logistics to coordinate shipping requirements, shipping dates, material availability, and department priorities.
  • Coordinate with Assembly to address paint repairs, touch-ups, and painting requirements following hydrostatic testing or other assembly activities.
  • Identify opportunities to improve paint systems, processes, productivity, quality, safety, and material utilization.
  • Identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions to improve employee safety and environmental compliance.
  • Ensure employees are properly trained and understand applicable work instructions, procedures, PPE requirements, and safety expectations.
  • Monitor employee performance, attendance, conduct, productivity, quality, and adherence to company expectations.
  • Maintain and improve 5S standards, housekeeping, organization, material storage, and workplace compliance.
  • Maintain accurate communication regarding job status, material requirements, inspection status, repairs, and production concerns.
  • Ensure all paint department activities are performed in accordance with applicable specifications, procedures, work instructions, and customer requirements.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Follow all company policies and procedures, including but not limited to Global Code of Business Principles, Code of Ethics and Business Conduct, Vision and Values, Operational Framework
  • Must pass Pulmonary Function Test (PFT)
  • Must be able to wear respirator
  • Ability to pass NACE Paint Test (or equivalent certification), demonstrating advanced coating application competency.
  • Full proficiency with Inorganic Zinc, Epoxy, and High-Temperature coatings.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE (required levels)
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • 5 + years of industrial painting or blasting experience
