Job summary

BMW Group in Spartanburg, SC invites applications for the Paint Shop Digitalization Developer Intern. The role supports Paint Shop training initiatives as a key member of the digitalization team, contributing to the growth of the paint shop and plant training processes.

The intern will develop reporting and planning tools, create a custom course, plan projects related to training equipment, learn AR and other software, and assist the Training Coordination Team with new class development and data

Qualifications

  • Minimum GPA 3.0 (overall)
  • Enrolled student status at an accredited four-year college in the United States
  • Completed at least 30 credit hours by application time
  • Ability to work full-time on-site (40 hours/week)
  • Transfer students must have GPA from current university
  • Must attach unofficial transcript
  • Complete and pass substance abuse test before work term

Responsibilities

  • Develop tools for reporting and planning (Excel, Apex, Power BI, or others)
  • Develop a custom course and potentially teach it
  • Plan projects related to technical training equipment and processes
  • Learn new technologies (AR, new software)
  • Report technical trainings
  • Enhance reporting tools (Oracle/SharePoint)
  • Maintain reporting systems
  • Plan future courses and perform gap analysis
  • Analyze training data and forecast training needs
  • Assist Training Coordination Team with new class development and planning

Job Description:

Support Paint Shop training initiatives. Key member in the digitalization team and growth of the paint shop and plant training process.

The qualified intern/Co-op should expect to contribute and improve in the following functions:
  • Developing tools used for reporting and planning (excel, Apex, Power bi, or others).
  • Develop a custom course, opportunity to teach this course or others.
  • Plan projects related to technical training equipment/processes.
  • Learn new technologies (Augmented Reality, new software).
  • Reporting of technical trainings.
  • Further development of reporting tools (oracle/SharePoint).
  • Maintenance of reporting systems.
  • Planning of future courses.Gap analysis (qualifications).
  • Data analysis (training data).
  • Forecasting training needs.
  • Assist TCT (Training Coordination Team) as needed, new class development, planning, etc.
Qualifications
  • Computer Science, ME, EE, data analytics, or similar.
  • SQL and VBA.
  • Oracle.
  • Databases.
  • Microsoft Power Apps.
  • Possess a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (not just in major)
  • Have enrolled student status at an accredited four-year college or university in the United States.
  • Completed at least 30 credit hours at time of application.
  • Ability to work full-time on-site (40 hours / week).
  • Transfer students must have a GPA from current university.
  • MUST ATTACH A COPY OF UNOFFICIAL TRANSCRIPT
  • Complete and pass a substance abuse test before the work term.
  • THE WORK TERM DATES ARE January 11th - May 14th, 2027.
