Job summary

Go McPherson is seeking a Painter Helper / Assembly Assistant to prepare parts for painting via sanding, masking, cleaning, and other surface prep, while also providing general assembly support in a safe manufacturing environment.

The role involves loading and staging materials, reading basic blueprints, assembling crates, and using hand and power tools. You should be mechanically inclined, detail oriented, and reliable, with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Manufacturing, paint preparation, or assembly experience preferred.
• Mechanical aptitude and experience using hand and power tools.
• Ability to read basic blueprints and use measuring tools.
• Basic math and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare parts and components for painting by sanding, masking, scraping, cleaning, taping, washing, and other approved preparation methods.
• Load, unload, identify, and stage materials, tools, and equipment for production.
• Read and interpret basic blueprints, work instructions, and parts lists.
• Assist with assembly, crate building, and packaging using hand and power tools.
• Verify parts, measurements, and specifications before beginning work.
• Operate forklifts and overhead cranes safely (training/certification as required).
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while following all company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
• Accurately record labor time and inventory changes as required.
• Demonstrate a strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to assist in other production areas.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
