Job summary

General Motors seeks a Paint Maintenance Planner in Kansas City, KS to coordinate and prepare maintenance for paint dept equipment and facilities. You will develop job plans, schedule work, manage parts and resources, and improve preventive-maintenance effectiveness.

You will work with maintenance leadership, skilled trades, operations, and engineering to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient paint processes. Experience in automotive manufacturing and Maximo/CMMS is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in maintenance planning, scheduling, and work-order management.
• Knowledge of preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance practices.
• Ability to read equipment manuals, procedures, drawings, and schematics.
• Strong organization, prioritization, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Review maintenance requests and preventive-maintenance requirements for paint dept.
• Develop complete work packages with scope, labor, materials, and duration.
• Create and monitor work orders, job plans, and maintenance records in the CMMS.
• Coordinate planning with trades, operations, and engineering teams.
• Plan shutdowns, outages, and major repairs with good sequencing.
• Ensure parts, tools, and permits are ready before scheduling work.
• Support root-cause investigations to improve reliability.
