Wabtec Corporation is seeking a production supervisor to lead a team that assembles or operates small machines to meet daily schedules while emphasizing safety, 5S, and continuous improvement. The role requires problem-solving leadership and the ability to interpret blueprints and BOMs.

The position involves training staff on PPE use, coordinating assembly requirements, and applying lean tools to improve methods and quality. On-site work with a focus on safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Associate degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; two to 5 years of experience.
• Ability to interpret blueprints of a technical nature, BOMs, leadership capabilities, and be a problem solver.

Responsabilités

• Ensure a safe working environment, good housekeeping and 5S for the area and all of VBI.
• Conduct stand-up meetings with team members to discuss safety, quality productivity, TPM, 5S and CIA’s.
• Trains and ensure employees are utilizing proper PPE for each area and develops input on assembly requirements needed to determine the total material and labor to meet BOMs and cost targets.
• Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
• Establishes plans to reduce or eliminate internal and external customer rejects and sets up and maintains Kanban boards to meet start, due and delivery dates. Studies production schedules and estimates the hours required to complete jobs.
• Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers; identifies root cause and implements corrective action.

How will you make a difference?

Responsible for a group of people who either assemble or operate small machines to produce quality work while maintaining a smooth flow of output which matches customer demand within either a department or a cell. Problem solves through others or through team input. Develops, releases, and then ensures the team meets the daily schedule. Works with the team to ensure safety, 5S, continuous improvement, cross training and implementation of other lean manufacturing tools. Total Productivity Maintenance (TPM) may be applicable but would be limited in scope. Instructions are taken from Oracle system, Kanban cards, routers, blueprints and or flat screens, Process Standard Sheets (PSS), PC spreadsheets, supervisor, manager, and customer service.

• Associate degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; two to 5 years of experience. Ability to interrupt blueprints of a technical nature, BOM’s, leadership capabilities, and be a problem solver.

What will your typical day look like?

• Ensure a safe working environment, good housekeeping and 5’s for your respective area and all of VBI.
• Conducts stand-up meetings with team members to discuss safety, quality productivity, TPM, 5S and CIA’s.
• Trains and ensure employees are utilizing proper PPE for each area and develops and provides input on assembly requirements needed to determine the total material and labor to meet BOM’s and cost targets.
• Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
• Established plans to reduce and or eliminate internal and external customer rejects and setup and maintains Kanban boards to meet the start, due and delivery dates. Studies production schedules and estimates the hours required to complete job assignments. Reviews Kanban cards or other schedules to establish priorities based upon start, due or ship dates.
• Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems. Identify root cause and implement corrective action.

• The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to reach hands and arms and talk or hear.
• The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

Salary Range: $30.00-$33.00/Hour

The salary rate for this role is currently $0-0 The actual salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands and work location.
