Paint Equipment Setup Operator

Johnson Controls is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Paint Equipment Setup Operator/Technician to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for the setup, operation, and maintenance of paint and wastewater treatment systems. This position offers a unique opportunity to combine technical, mechanical, and chemical expertise to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality operations across both paint line and wastewater treatment processes.

Pay

$24.98 + $1.75 shift differential

10 PM - 6 AM

What You Will Do:
Paint Equipment Responsibilities:
  • Set up and operate painting, cleaning, and testing systems including electrostatic, bulk storage, electro deposition, and metal pre-treatment systems
  • Perform chemical and physical testing (e.g., pH, titration, viscosity, conductivity, temperature, voltage) to maintain paint system quality
  • Record and maintain data on test results and production activity
  • Adjust equipment to maintain required paint film thickness, texture, gloss, and adhesion
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance and minor repairs on painting equipment
  • Set up and maintain powder paint booths and manual parts washers
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and work area in a clean and orderly condition
  • Monitor parts for defects and report recurring issues to supervisors
Wastewater Treatment Responsibilities:
  • Monitor gauges, pumps, valves, and control systems in treatment stations
  • Perform lab sampling and testing to ensure compliance with wastewater regulations
  • Operate and maintain sewage pump stations and water quality monitoring equipment
  • Perform electrical and mechanical troubleshooting on treatment equipment
  • Record operational and laboratory data for reporting
  • Support inspections as required
What We Look For:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • At least 1 year of related experience preferred
  • Forklift license or ability to obtain
  • Ability to read blueprints and interpret technical instructions
  • Experience with measurement tools such as micrometers, tape measures, and scales
  • Preferred experience in wastewater utilities or paint system maintenance
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs with assistance
  • Frequent standing, bending, climbing stairs, pushing, and pulling
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions and raise arms overhead
  • Visual acuity and attention to detail
  • Ability to work in industrial conditions (heat, noise, chemicals) for extended shifts
