Job summary

Swanton Welding Company, a growing manufacturer of custom steel fabrication, is seeking a proactive Paint Booth Technician to join our team in Ohio. The role supports painting operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, with schedule Monday through Friday from 6:30am to 4:00pm.

Responsibilities include preparing surfaces, masking, selecting coatings and spray nozzles, operating and maintaining the spray booth, and inspecting painted surfaces.

Qualifications

• Forklift driving experience required.
• Prior painting experience.
• Understanding of airless spray sprayers.
• Excellent eye and hand coordination.
• Knowledge of paint products.
• Knowledge of respirators and protective clothing.
• Ability to work with paint, thinners and other products.

Responsibilities

• Work with supervisor to understand and achieve schedule.
• Remove rust, splatter, and other loose materials (surface prep).
• Apply masking tape and coverings over areas not to be painted.
• Select and mix coatings per product instructions.
• Select and use proper spray nozzle.
• Clean spray equipment after each job.
• Inspect sprayed surfaces after painting.
• Wear proper PPE when painting.
• Utilize and maintain spray booth.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
