Job summary

Wasserstrom is seeking a Finish Technician to coat materials with stains, paints, and lacquers in a manufacturing setting. You will use spray equipment, tape, prep, and paint wood or metal items while following customer specifications and maintaining an organized workspace.

Ideal candidates have basic finishing knowledge, a High School diploma or GED, and 1–3 months of related experience. The role involves safety-conscious production work in a factory environment.

Job Summary:

This position is responsible for coating various materials with finishing products, such as stains, paints, and lacquers. Finishers use spray guns and spray equipment to manufacture products according to customer specifications. Finishers tape, prep, prime, and paint wood and/or metal items. Finishers are assigned to a specific area of the manufacturing plant but may also work with other departments. Finishers may perform other tasks as needed.

Experience and Education:

• Minimum - High School or GED
• Minimum - 1 - 3 months related experience and/or training

Position Requirements:

• Knowledge of finishing equipment, such as spray guns, to coat products
• Knowledge of finishing products, such as stains, paints, and lacquers
• Mechanically inclined; ability to work with basic hand and power tools
• Ability to read a tape measure accurately to 1/16th of an inch
• Ability to add and subtract fractions
• Communicates well with others; speaks and writes clearly; asks for and offers help when needed
• Interpersonal; resolves questions and concerns in a professional manner; maintains confidentiality

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

• Manufacturing Environment – may cause exposure to heat, noise, vibration, odors, dust or moving
  mechanical parts
• Medium to Heavy Work – requires the ability to exert up to 100 lbs. with team or mechanical assistance,
  requires the ability to individually exert up to 75 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or exert up to 35 lbs. of force
  frequently, and/or exert up to 15 lbs. of force constantly to lift, move, push, or pull objects and materials
• Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel materials and equipment
• Frequently required to stand and reach with hands and arms
• Required to walk, see close and at distance, and talk and hear
