Job summary

Pain Physical Therapist in Manhattan/Brooklyn, NY is sought to provide specialized PT services to Veterans with chronic pain, collaborating with a multidisciplinary Pain Management team to improve function, mobility and quality of life through in-person and telehealth care.You will perform evaluations, develop treatment plans, and treat chronic pain and related conditions while educating patients and documenting progress in EMRs. Travel between Manhattan and Brooklyn may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher required.
• Current certification in BLS/ACLS via AHA or ARC required.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive physical and functional evaluations.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
• Treat chronic pain and musculoskeletal, neurological, cardiovascular, and pulmonary conditions.
• Provide therapeutic exercise, rehabilitation, patient education, and functional restoration.
• Assess adaptive equipment, prosthetics, positioning, and functional needs.
• Develop home exercise programs and document patient progress in EMRs.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary Pain Management team.
• Provide onsite and approved telehealth services.

Location: Manhattan/Brooklyn, NY Schedule: Full-Time, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM

Position Overview

Seeking a Pain Physical Therapist to provide specialized physical therapy services to Veterans with chronic pain. Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary Pain Management team to improve patient function, mobility, and quality of life through in-person and telehealth care.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive physical and functional evaluations.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
• Treat chronic pain and musculoskeletal, neurological, cardiovascular, and pulmonary conditions.
• Provide therapeutic exercise, rehabilitation, patient education, and functional restoration.
• Assess adaptive equipment, prosthetics, positioning, and functional needs.
• Develop home exercise programs and document patient progress in electronic medical records.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary Pain Management team.
• Provide onsite and approved telehealth services.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher.
• Current certification in at least one of the following:
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA BLS)
  • American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (AHA ACLS)
  • American Red Cross Basic Life Support (ARC BLS)

Travel: Occasional travel between Manhattan and Brooklyn locations may be required.
