Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
• Current NYS licensure and appropriate NP/PA certification.
• Current national board certification appropriate to discipline.
• BLS certification; ACLS may be required.
• DEA registration, as applicable to role and prescribing responsibilities.
• Experience in pain management or acute-care settings preferred.
• Knowledge of acute and chronic pain management principles.
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary hospital environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments focusing on pain, history, and psychosocial factors.
• Develop, initiate, and monitor individual pain management plans with physicians.
• Coordinate care before, during, and after procedures.
• Assist with pain management procedures within scope and credentialing.
• Review records and diagnostics prior to evaluations.
• Monitor patients post-procedure and address complications.
• Educate patients and families on pain management options.
• Collaborate with the care team to coordinate multidisciplinary care.
