Job summary

Chartwells Higher Ed is hiring a Sustainability Intern to support the University of Pittsburgh Hospitality group. The role offers hands-on experience across operations, marketing, admin, and guest services while promoting sustainability initiatives on campus.

You will gain exposure to data analysis, reporting, and storytelling through metric-backed narratives for leadership reviews and external reporting bodies. Part-time schedule is 15–20 hours weekly, with pay at $14 per hour.

• Interest in supporting operations, marketing, admin and guest services.
• Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with diverse teams.

Responsibilities

• Research and analyze sustainable best practices.
• Coordinate initiatives and visualize the source of food.
• Prepare metric-backed stories for reviews and touchpoints.
• Input operations data into reporting programs and analyze financials.
• Support Food Recovery Network initiatives and standard operating procedures.
• Train dining team and students on sustainable initiatives.
• Present findings in reports and presentations.
