Job summary

The Surgical Technology Internship at Cleveland Clinic Health System is a 17-week paid program for surgical technology students in their last semester. Interns work one-on-one with experienced STs, attend orientation, and complete 150 internship hours with educators and preceptors across multiple locations.

Available locations include Main Campus, Lorain ASC, Medina Hospital, Marymount Hospital, Fairview Hospital, and Main Campus General/Cardiac services.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited surgical technology program and entering the last semester.
• Must hold (or be willing to obtain) a valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic surgical patient care activities under the supervision of a Surgical Technologist, such as prepping, draping, setting up a sterile field, maintaining aseptic technique, managing specimens, pulling cases, and advocating for patients.
• Time management and room turnover; setting up rooms for the next day and stocking supplies.
• Thrive in a team environment.
