The Children’s Museum Houston is seeking a Development Special Events Intern who will support database, research, administrative, and event planning tasks year-round. You’ll gain hands-on experience in fundraising, donor relations, and special events while contributing to a nonprofit with a national reach.

Ideal candidates are organized, detail-oriented, eager to learn about philanthropy, and comfortable in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Current student or recent graduate.
• Strong writing and research abilities.
• Experience with fundraising and donor relations is a plus.
• MS Excel and Microsoft Office proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Research potential donors for auction items for the gala.
• Solicit donations by email and phone.
• Enter data into CMH’s donor database.
• Prepare reports and presentations for internal and external use.
• Assist with planning donor events and other activities.
• Maintain donor files and other development materials.
