MACC peer tutors needed for math, science, and writing courses at Moberly Area Community College. You will gain work experience while helping fellow students, develop job skills for your resume, and benefit from a friendly environment with paid positions and flexible hours.

Training is provided and college transcripts plus at least one faculty recommendation are required. Join a supportive team and build confidence by teaching others how to learn.

Qualifications

• A or B in the subjects they tutor.
• Faculty recommendation required.
• Interview with LARC Coordinator and/or Director.
• Personable, approachable, confident and responsible.

Responsibilities

• Tutor in academic subject areas.
• Help organize group study sessions.
• Help lead short workshops, tours, informational visits.
• Assist students with computer questions and navigating MyMacc.
• Complete tutor training and required hours to become CRLA certified.
• Help students with study skills.
• Serve as student role models.
• Attend tutor meetings when applicable.
• Assist Coordinator/Director with special projects.
• Adhere to LARC policies and standards.
• Be prepared, present, and punctual for work.
• Maintain tutoring environment in the LARC.
• Keep the LARC neat and assist with inventory.
