Job summary

Ramsey Fire Department seeks Paid On-Call Firefighters to serve the community while balancing other commitments. Training and certifications are provided by the City, with about 8 hours weekly for training and duty shifts.

Applicants must be 18+, live/work within an 8-minute response distance of Ramsey fire station, and be prepared to respond to fires, medical emergencies, rescues, and hazmat incidents as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Live and/or work within an 8-minute response distance of Ramsey fire station.
• No prior firefighting experience required; training and certifications are provided.

• Attend training sessions, approximately 8 hours per week.
• Respond to fires, medical emergencies, rescues, and hazardous materials incidents.
• Support community safety as a Paid On-Call Firefighter.

The Ramsey Fire Department is seeking Paid On-Call Firefighters who want to serve their community while maintaining their regular career, education, or other commitments.

No previous firefighting experience is required. The City provides and pays for all required training and certifications, including the Anoka County Fire Academy.

Firefighters commit approximately 8 hours per week to training and duty shifts while responding to fires, medical emergencies, rescues, hazardous materials incidents, and more.

Applicants must be at least 18 and live and/or work within an 8-minute response distance of either Ramsey fire station.
