Job summary

WellSpan Health is offering a paid Nurse Externship in Waynesboro, VA. The program features two 4-week unit experiences from May 17, 2027 to July 10, 2027, with a minimum 36-hour weekly commitment and 1:1 RN preceptor guidance. Students must have completed Medical Surgical rotation and be in good standing.

Rotations include Surgical, Medical, Emergency Department, Critical Care, and Operating Room units. RN externs may be entering final semester with anticipated graduation in winter 2027 to

Qualifications

• Must have completed Medical Surgical rotation in accredited nursing program prior to externship start.
• Must maintain good standing status in accredited nursing program.
• Enrollment in approved nursing program with completion of two clinical semesters is required.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct care to patients by performing a variety of duties under supervision, including data collection, provision of care, completion of selected therapeutic interventions, and documentation of care provided for a specified group of patients.

Education

High School Diploma or GED

Enrolled in approved Nursing program with completion of two clinical semesters

Enrollment in accredited BSN program preferred
