Job summary

Lutheran SeniorLife is offering a Nurse Aide Trainee (NAT) opportunity at Passavant Community in Zelienople, PA. Trainees will earn $16.75 per hour with a $6,000 sign-on bonus paid over the first year and begin as a Caregiver for at least 3 months before advancing to CNA track.

The program includes five weeks of paid clinical and classroom instruction, daylight shifts, and a path to state certification upon successful completion. Employment can transition to full- or part-time CNA status.

Qualifications

• Completion of the PA State Nurse Aide Training Program or equivalent as determined by the PA Department of Education.
• Must take and pass the NA competency test within 120 days from date of hire into the Nurse Aide Training Program.
• Individuals without certification must demonstrate eligibility to sit for PA State approved Nurse Aide Training Program testing and pass the test within 120 days of employment.
• Working knowledge of computers, Microsoft Word, Excel and using a touch screen for documentation required.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with daily activities under supervision of licensed staff.
• Support professional nursing staff in direct and indirect care tasks.
• Maintain resident rights, privacy and confidentiality of information.
• Participate in the Nurse Aide Trainee education program and transition to CNA upon completion.
