Job summary

LPL Financial invites students to join its Internal Audit internship program in the Fort Mill/Charlotte area for a 10-week summer experience. You will work with the IA Business Analytics team, participate in audits, training, and leadership interactions, and gain exposure to company systems.

This paid internship is designed for sophomores/juniors with a GPA baseline and aims to develop business and professional skills through mentorship and real-world assignments.

Qualifications

• Current sophomore or junior.
• GPA 3.0 minimum.
• Be local to the Fort Mill/Charlotte office.
• All majors considered; finance or accounting preferred.
• GPA of 3.3 or higher.
• Basic financial and accounting knowledge (financial statements, budgeting, forecasting).
• Leadership experience through student organizations, internships, or projects.
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Office 365.
• Effective communication, detail-oriented, and problem-solving skills.
• Passionate, driven, open to new opportunities, and proactive.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the completion of financial, operational, and process design assessments and control testing.
• Participate in process walkthroughs and perform audit testing in accordance with department and professional standards.
• Obtain exposure to systems, databases, and other applications used by the Company on a daily basis.
• Practice project management through handling various assignments and projects.
• Expand knowledge through training and other online courses.
• Interact with other company leaders to develop an understanding of career options and opportunities at LPL Financial.
