Job summary

Austin Industrial is seeking a 2027 Summer Internship in Human Resources. This paid, 12-week full-time program starts May 17, 2027, and ends August 6, 2027. The intern will work on a specific project, learn Austin Industrial operations, and collaborate with department teams.

The internship offers hands-on experience and exposure to multiple HR disciplines at our La Porte, TX area office. Interns will assist with HR activities, maintain records, conduct research, and participate in

Qualifications

Must be an active junior or senior college student pursuing a degree in Human Resources.
Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
Ability to think analytically and work in project teams.

Responsibilities

Assist with day-to-day HR activities, including administrative support and special projects.
Help maintain employee records and HR systems with accuracy and confidentiality.
Conduct research to identify process improvements and support HR objectives.
Support employee engagement initiatives, training programs, benefits administration, and other HR activities.
Gain exposure to HR functions such as employee relations, talent acquisition, compensation, compliance, and workforce planning.
Participate in meetings and cross-functional projects to understand business operations.
Complete a final internship project delivering a meaningful recommendation or deliverable.
Assist with candidate sourcing, interview scheduling, onboarding activities, and new hire documentation.
