Southern Hospitality Internship Program in Gatlinburg is seeking an Events Intern to assist the Events Department in planning and operating events. The role offers exposure to budgeting, scheduling, staffing, and on-site event management.

You will shadow multiple leaders, learn how to forecast budgets, and participate in cross-department meetings and supply ordering. This paid internship emphasizes hands-on learning in a fast-paced convention center environment.

Qualifications

• College juniors, seniors or graduate students working for academic credit.
• Some completed college coursework with emphasis in event management or related field.
• Proficient with Windows; experience in Word, Excel and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and executing events within the Convention Center and City of Gatlinburg events.
• Shadow Event Managers to learn staff and volunteer management before, during and after events.
• Learn budgeting, forecasting and logging events budgets.
