Job summary

Medtronic is seeking motivated engineering students for its Summer Internship Program, a paid 10-11 week full-time opportunity conducted in multiple U.S. hubs.

Interns work onsite 4 days per week, gain hands-on experience in biomedical/Mechanical/Electrical engineering, and receive housing assistance and relocation support for eligible candidates.

Applicants must be enrolled in a relevant engineering program with an expected graduation date in 2027–2029.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in biomedical engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, industrial engineering, materials science & engineering, computer engineering, software engineering, computer science, or related engineering discipline with anticipated graduation Winter 2027, Spring 2028, Winter 2028, or Spring 2029.
• Applicants for Medtronic’s Summer Internship Program must be currently authorized to work in the United States. Medtronic does not sponsor work authorization for internship positions.
• Preferred qualifications include experience in manufacturing, operations, process improvement, industrial engineering, or product support through internships or projects.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, process mapping, root cause analysis, or process optimization.
• Experience analyzing operational, manufacturing, quality, or engineering data.
• Experience creating technical documentation, engineering reports, project summaries, standard work instructions, or presentations.

Responsibilities

• Work onsite a minimum of 4 days per week and participate in full-time, 40 hours per week as part of the intern cohort.
• Support manufacturing and process-improvement projects.
• Assist in creating technical documentation and project summaries.
• Housing assistance and relocation support may be provided for eligible interns.
