Qualifications

• Must have High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
• Must be 18 years of age and have a valid Enhanced Driver's License or Passport; if not, able to obtain Enhanced D.L. by midterm.
• Must have a good driving record.
• Must pass the Criminal Background Check.
• Must pass the Physical, MRO Drug Screen, Lift Test at 137.50 lbs.
• Must provide documents that establish identity and immunization records (MMR, Varicella, Tdap, Hepatitis B).
• Must be able to commit to one year of full-time employment upon receiving EMT Michigan license; exiting early requires reimbursement to SAS.
• Applicants will be required to take a Pre-placement Assessment to determine acceptance into class.

Responsibilities

• Class Start Date: January 5th, 2026; 16 weeks; Meets Mondays and Wednesdays from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm; Class Location: LSTI, 1600 E Grand Blvd, Detroit MI 48211.
• On completion, student will be hired as a full-time employee with a one-year commitment; the class may be funded by SAS or the candidate may pay to attend.
