Job summary

Stacy Witbeck is seeking an Estimating Intern in Alameda for hands-on experience in construction cost estimation. You will work with the Estimating Dept to build material lists, labor costs, and overall project cost estimates.

Responsibilities include takingoff quantities, soliciting subcontractor quotes, and creating estimating coordination exhibits with Bluebeam, Google Earth, and HeavyBid. Strong math, Blueprint reading, and Excel skills are required.

Qualifications

• Pursuit of a Bachelor's in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent from a four-year college.
• Strong mathematics abilities.
• Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel.
• Ability to read construction plans/blueprints.
• Excellent attention to detail and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Review plans and specifications and complete quantity takeoffs for assigned scopes of work.
• Solicit quotes from subcontractors, vendors and suppliers for indicative or firm pricing.
• Prepare project understanding maps for estimating coordination using paper, Bluebeam and Google Earth.
• Assist with analyzing data, monitoring budgets and prices using HeavyBid.
• Assist with reviewing and accessing cost estimates.
