Job summary

MHM’s Northwest Center location in San Antonio, TX invites applications for a paid part-time internship for Spring 2027. You will assist in drafting press materials, support events and internal communications, and contribute to community outreach initiatives.

The role involves content creation for social media and collaborative marketing efforts, with Canva/Adobe tools and Microsoft Office proficiency. Flexible 20-hour schedule expected.

Qualifications

• Seeking a student enrolled in an accredited college or university pursuing a degree in Public Relations, Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or related field.
• Good academic standing and eligibility to receive academic credit or meet internship requirements.
• Excellent written communication with grammar, spelling and punctuation; AP Stylebook familiarity preferred.
• Fluent in English; Spanish bilingual preferred.
• Proficient with internet/digital literacy; familiarity with Microsoft Office and social media tools.
• Experience with Canva or Adobe Creative Suite is desirable.
• Understanding multimedia content integration across channels is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in drafting press releases, media pitches, and related materials.
• Support planning and execution of internal and external events, including logistics and follow-up.
• Create internal communications such as newsletters and intranet updates.
• Contribute to community outreach materials and coordinate communication strategies.
• Collaborate on marketing campaigns by researching audiences and creating content.
• Develop engaging content for social media platforms.
• Support design needs using Canva or Adobe Creative Suite.
• Assist in coordinating and executing projects to improve communications workflow.
• Manage production timelines and handle multiple projects while meeting deadlines.
• Maintain adherence to organizational graphics standards for a consistent image.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
