Job summary
The Baltimore Sun is seeking a Senior Editor/Page One to identify, develop and elevate the newsroom's most consequential journalism for prominent digital and print presentation. Qualifications
- Significant professional journalism experience, including reporting and editing.
- Exceptional news judgment with ability to identify consequential stories quickly.
- Experience working with public records and government documents.
- Editorial skills in structure, fairness, accuracy and attribution.
Responsibilities
- Identify strongest journalism across The Sun's daily report for Page One.
- Collaborate with reporters and editors to improve reporting and framing.
- Recognize important developments fast, including in press conferences, audits, and court filings.
- Develop quick-turn accountability and investigative work.
- Coordinate newsroom-wide coverage when stories cross beats.
- Ensure strongest journalism is presented effectively across platforms.
