Job summary

Mohegan Tribe is seeking seasonal staff to support race day operations at the track. You will assist horsemen and horses, manage saddles and head numbers, and operate paddock gates to ensure smooth pacing of events.

Responsibilities include aiding with equipment issues, transporting riders to the winner’s circle, and maintaining high guest service standards across all racing hours and qualifiers. Seasonal schedule; weather-exposed work.

Qualifications

• Some college or tech school preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Thorough knowledge of racing procedures and racing equipment.
• Familiarity with horses.

Responsibilities

• Assist horsemen and horses at the racetrack.
• Distribute, collect, clean and maintain racing saddle pads and head numbers.
• Open and close paddock gates as needed.
• Assist horsemen with broken equipment emergencies.
• Drive horsemen to and from the winner’s circle as needed.
• Must be available to work for all racing hours and qualifiers.
• Other duties may be assigned as needed.
• Promotes superior guest service.
